Falz, Femi Falana Protest Insecurity in Nigeria

Nigerian musician and activist Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz, alongside his father, prominent human rights lawyer Femi Falana (SAN), joined a nationwide protest on June 12, 2026 (Nigeria's Democracy Day) to challenge worsening insecurity and economic hardship across the country.

Protest Against Rising Insecurity

Organized by a broad coalition of civil society organizations (CSOs) and labour unions, the demonstrations aim to stop the rising wave of persistent killings and kidnappings across the country. Falz expressed his frustration, saying, "Schools are still open while students are being kidnapped, what's happening in this country?"

Public Outcry

The protest highlights growing public anger over the government's failure to address security challenges, including frequent abductions and violent crimes. The father-son duo marched through Lagos streets, calling for urgent action from authorities.
