Father Mourns Son Drowned in Stagnant Water

A Nigerian man, Simon Peter, is grieving the tragic loss of his young son, Lawrence, who drowned in a stagnant water body. The incident occurred while the boy was playing with his friends.

Father's Heartbreaking Account

According to Peter, Lawrence's friends persuaded him to follow them to the location but then watched him drown without raising an alarm. In a Facebook post on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, Peter expressed his profound sorrow and regret.

"My dear son, I am sorry for not having the powers to appear and save you whenever you are in trouble. That is why I couldn't save you when you were drowning in that stagnant water. Your friends, who persuaded you to follow them there, all left without shouting for help until you drowned to death," he wrote.
