Police Launch Investigation into Alleged Murder of Young Woman in Ibadan
A tragic incident has shaken the community in Ibadan, Oyo State, as a 26-year-old woman, identified as Precious Mogaji, was allegedly killed by her boyfriend. The event occurred at the Oguntula area of Ojoo, Ibadan, with authorities swiftly responding to reports from a concerned citizen.

The Oyo State Police Command, through spokesperson Olayinka Ayanlade, confirmed the incident in a statement released on Monday, March 9, 2026. According to the police, the case was reported by a good Samaritan who discovered the victim lying lifeless at the entrance of her boyfriend's room. The boyfriend, Quadri Mohammed, aged 29, is currently at large, prompting an intensive manhunt by law enforcement.
Acting promptly on the information, the Patrol Team and Incident Duty Officer from the Ojoo Division were dispatched to the scene. Upon arrival, they found the lifeless body of Precious Mogaji on the floor at the doorway of the suspect's room. The body underwent a forensic examination, with findings documented in accordance with established investigative procedures.

In the statement, the police addressed false narratives circulating in some media sections, which incorrectly claimed the incident occurred at Akobo and involved a husband attempting to place his wife's corpse in a car trunk.
