The Kano State Hisbah Board has apprehended 16 individuals during a series of raids aimed at curbing alleged immoral activities across various parts of the state.
Details of the Arrests
According to the board, the operation led to the detention of six men and 10 women. The raids were conducted at several locations, including El-Kanemy Suite, BUK Road, Danbare, and Layin Shisha.
First-Time Offenders
Deputy Commander-General Mujahiddeen Aminuddeen confirmed that all suspects are first-time offenders. He stated that they are currently undergoing counselling sessions as part of the board's rehabilitative approach.
Aminuddeen explained that the board would invite the relatives of those arrested to provide guidance. Additionally, the suspects are required to sign undertakings promising not to engage in similar activities in the future.
Future Monitoring
The Hisbah Board has announced that it will continue to monitor the released individuals closely. The board reaffirmed its commitment to enforcing Sharia-related regulations and addressing any activities deemed contrary to the state's moral code.
