The command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Abubakar Sadiq, confirmed the arrest in a statement issued to journalists on Saturday in Katsina. According to the statement, the suspect was taken into custody after hospital staff reported suspicious movement within the hospital premises.

On May 9, 2026, at approximately 4:20 p.m., a staff member noticed an unidentified individual moving suspiciously around the facility and immediately alerted security personnel. Police detectives were quickly deployed to the scene, where they arrested the suspect, later identified as Sagir Muntari.

Interrogation and Admission

During interrogation, the suspect allegedly admitted to entering the hospital with the intention of engaging in ritual-related criminal activity, according to the police statement. The command added that investigations are ongoing, after which the suspect will be charged in court.
