Kogi Varsity Expels Four, Rusticates One Over Misconduct

The management of Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), Osara, Kogi State, has expelled four students and rusticated another for various acts of misconduct. The decisions were announced in a statement issued on Sunday, May 10, 2026.

Expulsions for Lesbianism and Assault

Two 200-level female students were expelled for alleged involvement in lesbianism. Additionally, two other students were expelled for offenses including physical assault, stabbing, and cloning of students' pictures. Another student was rusticated for one academic session due to involvement in fighting and physical assault.

Senate Decision

According to the statement, the Senate of the university reached these decisions at its 30th Regular Meeting held on Wednesday, April 29, 2026. The Deputy Registrar, Academic Affairs, Mr. Eli Usman Gbadafu, communicated the decisions in separate letters to the affected students, noting that the Senate's ruling takes immediate effect.

Vice-Chancellor's Remarks

The Vice-Chancellor, Engr. Prof. Abdulrahman Asipita Salawu, FNSE, commended the Students' Disciplinary Committee for what he described as a thorough and diligent job. He reiterated the university's commitment to training students in both character and learning, stressing that the management will not compromise on discipline and adherence to the institution's rules and regulations.
