According to a statement released on Friday, March 6, 2026, by the command's spokesperson, ASC 1 Ayoola Michael Shola, the suspects were identified as Abubakar Jubril, aged 28, and Mohammed Abubakar, aged 26. They were apprehended on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, following sustained surveillance by NSCDC operatives in the Saminaka Community of Patigi Local Government Area.

The operation was intelligence-driven, with the suspects being sighted in a volatile area. While two individuals were arrested, one suspect managed to escape and remains at large. The NSCDC has emphasized that all efforts are being made to ensure the prompt apprehension of the remaining suspect.
