A human rights lawyer has announced the death of his client, a lecturer who had taken a polytechnic to court over alleged unjust dismissal. The lawyer alleged that the client was brutally murdered by agents of darkness before the final court proceeding.
Details of the Case
Festus Ogun, a human rights lawyer, disclosed that his client was found dead in a pool of his own blood last week, just days before the school was expected to open its defense. The case had been adjourned for defense, but the tragic incident occurred.
Allegations of Injustice
According to Ogun, the case was instituted against what he described as forces of oppression and injustice in a Nigerian polytechnic. The lecturer had been unlawfully and unjustly sacked by the school management, leading to a legal battle at the National Industrial Court.
Under cross-examination a few months ago, the lecturer's testimony was unshaken, and the legal team had faith in their case and litigation strategy. However, the client was brutally murdered barely a week before the school was meant to open its defense.
Court Proceedings After the Murder
Yesterday, the legal team was at the National Industrial Court in Isabo, Abeokuta, to discontinue the case. Strangely, not only did the counsel's car break down on the way, but she also left the court with some sort of illness, so severe that she could not return to work directly and had to go home to recover.
Ogun warned that everyone would account for their actions before the ultimate judge eventually. He concluded with a somber farewell: Goodnight, Mr. Ogunbanjo. On judgment day, everyone would account for their actions before the ultimate judge.
