The Delta State Police Command has made a startling discovery after apprehending a young man who concealed a locally fabricated pistol inside an ordinary loaf of bread during a routine security check.

According to police reports, the incident occurred on November 6, 2025, at approximately 8:45 p.m. at the Koka Roundabout in Asaba. Officers from the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) were conducting their regular stop-and-search operation when they intercepted a young man whose behavior raised suspicion.

During a thorough search of the suspect, law enforcement officers made the shocking discovery: a locally made Beretta pistol carefully hidden inside a standard loaf of bread. The creative concealment method initially escaped notice but was uncovered during the comprehensive search procedure.

Suspect Identification and Arrest

The police immediately took the suspect into custody and identified him as Nnamdi Stanley Chibuike, a 24-year-old resident of Ogbeowele Quarters, located behind General Hospital in Asaba. The suspect remains in police custody while investigations continue to determine his potential involvement in criminal activities.

State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, confirmed the arrest and provided details about the operation. He emphasized that the suspect is being investigated for possible connections to armed robbery and kidnapping incidents within Asaba metropolis and surrounding communities.
