The victim, identified simply as Kehinde, also known as "OgoOjigbo," was attacked with dangerous weapons during the altercation. He sustained severe injuries that ultimately proved fatal. The clash reportedly involved a group of youths whose confrontation escalated into violence, leading to this deadly outcome. Community leaders were alerted by local security guards about the disturbance while residents were asleep, prompting them to report the incident to the Iyana-Offa Divisional Police Headquarters.

Police Response and Investigation

Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer of the Oyo State Police Command, DSP Olayinka Ayanlade, stated that a suspect named Giwa Sodiq has been arrested in connection with the alleged murder. Upon receiving the report, a team of operatives led by the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of the Iyana-Offa Division quickly moved to the scene and the hospital to commence investigations. Photographs were taken for documentation purposes, and efforts are ongoing to apprehend other suspects who fled the scene to ensure they face justice.

The injured individuals were immediately rushed to OjoOluwa Hospital in Iyana-Offa for medical attention, where Kehinde later succumbed to his injuries. His body has been deposited at the morgue of Adeoyo State Hospital, Ring Road, Ibadan, for preservation and autopsy.

The Commissioner of Police in Oyo State, Femi Haruna, commended the swift response of police operatives and urged residents to remain vigilant.
