A Nigerian social media user has gone viral after playfully claiming he embraced an electricity transformer for 12 hours, following a challenge from a supporter of President Bola Tinubu regarding his political stance.
Online exchange sparks humorous response
The exchange began when a user known as “BIGGEST VIRG is on Fanatix” posted that he would not support Tinubu in the 2027 election, despite having obtained his Permanent Voter Card (PVC). In reply, another X user, ThomasLFC, reportedly told him to “Go and Hug transformer.”
Later, the first user escalated the situation by sharing a photo of himself embracing a transformer, mocking the challenge. “So this APC supporter asked me to go and hug transformer because I said I would not vote for Tinubu,” he wrote. “I hugged the transformer for 12 hours straight, nothing happened. No light. Please everyone should get their PVCs.”
Social media reactions
The post quickly attracted widespread reactions, with many treating it as political satire linked to ongoing discussions about electricity supply and governance in Nigeria. ThomasLFC later reacted to the viral attention, writing: “Big Virg don set me uppppppppp,” while jokingly pleading with others not to block him.
The incident highlights how Nigerians often use humor to comment on political and infrastructural issues, particularly the persistent power challenges in the country.
