Man Arrested for Allegedly Killing Girlfriend Over Infidelity Claims in Cross River
The police in Cross River State have apprehended a 35-year-old man, identified as Malime Ejor, for allegedly killing his girlfriend, Moshie Igu, following accusations of infidelity in a local community. According to reports, the event occurred in the early hours of Saturday, March 28, at approximately 6 a.m. at a farm located in Nwang Village, within the Ekajuk community of Ogoja Local Government Area in Cross River State. A resident, who spoke on condition of anonymity, described how a heated argument erupted between the couple over allegations of extramarital affairs, which quickly escalated into violence.
The resident stated, "We heard the commotion and noise and rushed to the scene, but we were unable to prevent the situation because he was already using a machete on her. We could not do anything. We were able to hold him. Our youths caught him and later handed him over to security operatives." This account highlights the sudden and brutal nature of the attack, which resulted in the victim's death.
