According to reports, the event occurred in the early hours of Saturday, March 28, at approximately 6 a.m. at a farm located in Nwang Village, within the Ekajuk community of Ogoja Local Government Area in Cross River State. The resident stated, "We heard the commotion and noise and rushed to the scene, but we were unable to prevent the situation because he was already using a machete on her. We could not do anything. We were able to hold him. Our youths caught him and later handed him over to security operatives."
