Florida Mother Faces Child Abuse Charges After Son Accuses Her of Infidelity
A shocking case of alleged domestic violence has emerged from Gladeview, Florida, where a 32-year-old mother stands accused of repeatedly beating her 12-year-old son and threatening to kill him. The incident reportedly unfolded after the child accused his mother, identified as Lucianny Lizbeth Luna, of cheating on his stepfather.
School Officials Alert Police to Child's Injuries
According to a criminal complaint and arrest affidavit obtained by Law and Crime, police became involved when the young victim informed school officials about injuries inflicted by his mother. Authorities observed a contusion with lacerations on the left side of his face near his eye, along with multiple smaller injuries across his body.
Violent Confrontation During Car Ride to Park
The victim detailed to investigators that on the day prior to the report, his mother picked him up from school and began driving him in his stepfather's vehicle to Gwen Cherry Park for practice. During the ride, Luna was reportedly on the phone with a man the child believed she was cheating with.
When Luna told the man she was taking her son to the park "to play," the boy corrected her, stating he was actually going there so his coach could pick him up. This prompted an immediate and violent reaction from his mother.
Detailed Account of Physical Assault
An officer's report describes how Luna struck the victim in the face with her right hand, slapping him directly. She then grabbed his hair, pulled it, and struck him on the back of his head approximately eighteen to nineteen times with a small glass bottle.
The victim stated he felt shocked and froze momentarily after the blows, at which point his mother began shaking him. As they neared their residence, Luna allegedly attempted to slash him with her keys. The child tried to deflect the strike, but the key stabbed him in his right palm, leaving a small laceration that police later observed.
Escalation at Home and Death Threats
Upon entering their home, the victim told his stepfather that Luna was "on the phone with the other man." The stepfather instructed the boy to take a shower, then asked him to repeat what he had said. While the child was speaking, Luna allegedly struck him on the left side of his face, causing the injury near his eye, then slammed him against a wall.
As the victim tried to run away, his mother grabbed his towel, holding him back. The stepfather intervened temporarily, allowing the child to escape and hide in his room. However, Luna followed and began threatening him from outside his door.
The complaint claims Luna yelled, "I want to kill you. You're not my son. Come out the door, and I'll kill you with anything I have." Frightened, the child called his aunt, showed her his injuries, and asked her to send his grandparents to pick him up. The aunt later corroborated the child's account.
Mother's Denial and Arrest
When confronted by police, Luna admitted to hitting the victim "several times on the back" but claimed she did not remember any strikes after that. She denied hitting him in the face or on the back of the head. Despite her denial, authorities arrested Luna and charged her with child abuse resulting in no harm.
This disturbing case highlights serious concerns about child welfare and domestic violence, with the young victim's bravery in reporting the abuse potentially saving him from further harm.
