A mother and her two children were found dead in their home in Wilmer, Alabama, on Monday, April 20, in what authorities are investigating as a triple homicide. The victims were identified as Lisa Gail Fields, 46, her 17-year-old daughter Keziah Luker, and her 12-year-old son Thomas Cordelle Jr., according to the Mobile County Sheriff's Office.
Details of the Crime
Investigators revealed that Fields had been stabbed and her throat was cut, while Keziah was fatally shot and Thomas had his throat slit. The 12-year-old boy was almost decapitated, according to the sheriff. All three victims were bound with zip ties with their hands behind their backs and were found in separate rooms.
Keziah was approximately eight months pregnant at the time of her death, as reported by FOX 11 and AL.com.
Discovery of the Bodies
The bodies were discovered after Keziah's boyfriend, who was at work, noticed her phone moving on the Life360 app. When he could not reach her, he asked his father to check on her. The father found the bodies and called 911.
Police reported that the residence appeared to have been rummaged through, leading authorities to believe the suspects were searching for something. Investigators are considering the possibility of multiple suspects, as the victims had been subdued.
Investigation and Aftermath
An 18-month-old child, Keziah's, was found physically unharmed in the residence. As of Tuesday, no suspects or motive have been identified, and police do not believe the crime is domestic in nature.
A GoFundMe campaign has been set up for Fields' son to support funeral arrangements. Fields' husband, Nathan Fields, offered a $1,000 reward for information leading to the suspects. In a Facebook post, he wrote, "Everyone knows we lost three very special people last night. Senseless and uncalled for."
