The Nasrul-Lahi-L-Fatih Society (NASFAT) has organized a special nationwide prayer program, seeking divine intervention to address insecurity and promote peace, unity, and prosperity in Nigeria. The prayer session was held simultaneously across the organization's 360 locations, bringing together worshippers, Islamic scholars, community leaders, and members of the public to pray for the country's stability and development.
Concerns Over Persistent Insecurity
Speaking during the program, NASFAT's Chief Missioner, Sheikh Abdul-Azeez Morufu Onike, expressed concern over the persistent challenges of banditry, kidnapping, terrorism, and other criminal activities affecting different parts of the country. He urged Nigerians to intensify prayers for the nation while supporting efforts aimed at restoring peace and security.
According to him, although security agencies are working to improve the situation, citizens also have a responsibility to cooperate with authorities, promote peaceful coexistence, and contribute to national development. Onike said Nigerians should not lose hope despite the challenges facing the country, noting that sincere prayers and righteous conduct remain important in overcoming difficulties.
Call for Unity and Collective Responsibility
He also called on citizens to avoid actions capable of causing division and unrest, stressing that unity, mutual respect, and collective responsibility are essential for sustainable peace and national progress. The President of NASFAT, Alhaji Ayodeji AbdulRauf, also urged Nigerians to maintain a positive attitude towards the country's leaders and continue to pray for national success.
He said development could be accelerated when citizens support their leaders through constructive engagement, goodwill, and sincere prayers. AbdulRauf encouraged Nigerians to remain optimistic about the future despite prevailing challenges and to continue seeking divine guidance for those entrusted with leadership responsibilities.
Power of Prayers for National Transformation
According to him, prayers remain a powerful tool for national transformation and should be complemented by patriotism, unity, and commitment to the common good. He reaffirmed NASFAT's commitment to promoting spiritual growth, moral values, peaceful coexistence, and national cohesion.
Special prayers were offered for President Bola Tinubu, state governors, lawmakers, security personnel, and other public office holders. Worshippers also prayed for divine wisdom, protection, and guidance for those responsible for protecting lives and property. Prayers were equally offered for victims of insecurity and their families, with participants seeking comfort, healing, and lasting peace for affected communities.
Many participants expressed confidence that sustained prayers, responsible leadership, and collective efforts would help restore peace and stability across the country.
