The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has apprehended a 75-year-old suspected drug trafficker, Okebe Samuel, in Ebonyi State as part of its ongoing nationwide operations against illicit drug trafficking.
Femi Babafemi, the Director of Media and Advocacy at NDLEA Headquarters, disclosed this in a statement issued on Sunday, June 7, 2026, in Abuja. Babafemi stated that operatives of the agency arrested the septuagenarian at the Okposi community.
According to him, Samuel was found in possession of 300 grammes of skunk, a strain of cannabis, which was allegedly packaged in retail sachets for distribution to youths in the area. The arrest highlights the agency's commitment to curbing drug abuse and trafficking across the country.
The NDLEA continues to intensify its efforts to dismantle drug networks and bring offenders to justice, regardless of their age or status.
