Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has announced the successful treatment of an early-stage prostate cancer discovered during a routine medical examination. The announcement was made on Friday via his official X account, where he detailed that the tumor was a tiny spot less than a centimeter, with no signs of spread, and was completely removed through focused therapy.
Netanyahu explained that he had delayed the publication of his annual medical report by two months to prevent the Iranian regime from using it as propaganda material during peak wartime efforts. He affirmed that he remains in excellent health. “Today, my annual medical report was published. I requested to delay its publication by two months so that it would not be released at the height of the war, in order not to allow the Iranian terror regime to spread even more false propaganda against Israel,” he said.
“I ask to share with you three things: Thank God, I am healthy, I am in excellent physical condition. I had a minor medical issue with my prostate that was completely treated. Thank God, it’s behind me,” Netanyahu added.
The Prime Minister recounted that a year and a half ago, he underwent successful surgery for an enlarged benign prostate and has since been under routine monitoring. During a recent check-up, doctors discovered a tiny spot of less than a centimeter in his prostate. Further examination revealed it to be a very early-stage malignant tumor with no spread or metastases. Netanyahu noted that doctors informed him this condition is common among men his age and presented two options: either no treatment with continued monitoring, or treatment to remove the problem.
“It doesn’t have to be treated; it is possible to remain under monitoring alone. You can live with it, and many do so. Undergo treatment and remove the problem,” Netanyahu listed the options. He linked his proactive choice to his leadership style of addressing threats immediately. “You already know me. When I’m given information in time about a potential danger, I want to address it immediately. This is true on the national level and also on the personal level. That’s what I did,” he stated.
Netanyahu underwent targeted treatment that eliminated the issue, leaving no trace. He described the process as short, allowing him to read a book and continue working. “I underwent targeted treatment that removed the problem and left no trace of it. I went to a few short treatments, read a book, and continued working. The spot disappeared completely. Thank God, I overcame this too,” he said.
He expressed gratitude to the doctors and medical teams at Hadassah Hospital in Jerusalem and urged Israeli citizens to prioritize their health. “From you, citizens of Israel, I have only one request: Take care of your health. Get checked, and follow the doctors’ instructions,” he urged. Concluding on a spiritual note, Netanyahu said, “And from here, on the eve of Shabbat, I pray for the peace of our wounded in body and soul, and send them a warm hug and complete healing in your name.”
