The incident occurred when a Fuso truck loaded with beer collided with a Lexus Jeep, a Hyundai Jeep, and an Okada, causing several crates of beer to fall and scatter across the roadway.
Passersby Collect Spilled Beer Despite Broken Glass
According to reports, some passersby drank beer directly from the road and packed extra bottles into bags, despite the broken glass scattered around the accident scene. The scene attracted residents who appeared more interested in the spilled drinks than the possible danger posed by the broken bottles. No casualties were recorded in the collision.
LASTMA, Police, and LAWMA Respond to Clear Road
The Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) confirmed that its personnel were at the scene to manage the situation. A statement from the agency said, “Our personnel are on the ground managing the situation; men of the Nigeria police are also present, while LAWMA officials are clearing the broken bottles from the roadway.” The agency urged motorists to exercise caution while passing through the area as officials worked to clear the road.

The incident left broken glass scattered across the road, creating an additional hazard for motorists and pedestrians. LASTMA advised drivers to “drive with caution always” while the cleanup operation was underway. The agency's personnel remained on site to manage traffic and ensure the safety of road users.
