NIMC Introduces WhatsApp and Live Chat for NIN Support
The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) has launched two new digital customer support channels to improve accessibility and service delivery for Nigerians and legal residents seeking help with National Identification Number (NIN) related enquiries.
In a statement on Tuesday, the Head of Corporate Communications Unit, Dr Kayode Adegoke, announced that the Commission has introduced a Live Chat feature on its official website and an official WhatsApp support platform. These initiatives are part of ongoing reforms and digital transformation efforts led by the Director-General/CEO, Abisoye Coker-Odusote.
The new channels aim to provide faster, more convenient, and real-time access to support services. Users can now connect with NIMC via Live Chat at www.nimc.gov.ng or through the official WhatsApp line at +234 701 566 6971.
According to the Commission, this move reflects its commitment to service innovation, citizen-centered engagement, and efficient identity management. It aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda, which focuses on improving public sector efficiency and enhancing access to government services through technology-driven solutions.
The newly introduced platforms are designed to offer prompt responses to enquiries, real-time guidance, and improved customer interaction from anywhere, at any time. This reduces the need for physical visits while enhancing user experience and operational efficiency.
Under Coker-Odusote's leadership, NIMC continues to implement strategic reforms and innovative digital solutions aimed at expanding access, strengthening public trust, and improving service delivery for all Nigerians and legal residents.
NIMC encourages the public to use these official communication platforms for verified information, prompt assistance, and updates regarding NIN services and other identity management matters. The Commission also advises citizens to remain vigilant and engage only through its official channels to avoid misinformation and fraudulent activities.
