Men of the Ogun State Police Command have apprehended 23-year-old Adeshola Muyiwa for his involvement in a series of fake bank transfer frauds in the Agbado area and surrounding communities. The arrest took place on May 17 at approximately 11:45 a.m., following a report that earlier that day at around 8 a.m., the suspect visited a food vendor at Owolanwa Junction, Agbado. He purchased food items worth 2,600 Naira and fraudulently presented a fake transfer alert as proof of payment.
Swift response and coordinated investigative efforts by operatives of the Agbado Division led to the quick arrest of the suspect. The Command’s spokesperson, DSP Oluseyi Babaseyi, confirmed the arrest to journalists, stating that preliminary investigations revealed the suspect had been operating a consistent pattern of fake and scheduled transfer scams across Agbado and neighboring areas, targeting unsuspecting members of the public.
During interrogation, Muyiwa reportedly confessed to engaging in fraudulent activities over an extended period, with proceeds from such acts allegedly amounting to approximately 10 million Naira. The Commissioner of Police for Ogun State, CP Bode Ojajuni, commended the professionalism, vigilance, and operational effectiveness of the officers of Agbado Division under CSP Adesanya Oyekanmi for their rapid response and successful apprehension of the suspect. He reaffirmed the Command's dedication to continuing the fight against financial and cyber-enabled crimes throughout the state.
