Ogun So-Safe Corps Recovers 20 Rustled Cows, Hunts Fleeing Suspects
In a decisive operation, the Ogun State Community, Social Orientation and Safety Corps, commonly known as So-Safe, has successfully recovered over 20 cows from cattle rustlers in Ijagun, Ijebu-Ode. The incident occurred at a ranch where the rustlers violently assaulted and injured a guard before escaping with the animals in the early hours of March 17, 2026.
Swift Response to Distress Call
According to a statement released by the Corps' Commander, Dr. Soji Ganzallo, through the Director of Information and Public Relations, Adegunwa Adegbuyi, an Assistance Commander, the So-Safe Corps received a distress call around 1:30 a.m. from a resident of the Ifesowapo community. The call reported a purported cattle rustling at a ranch within the community. In a swift response, the State Commander radioed the Ijebu Zonal Commander, Yemi Odukoya, to mobilize a special squad, which immediately set out for the location.
Upon arrival at the ranch, the team discovered that the rustlers had already assaulted the guard on duty and fled with 20 cows. The So-Safe squad instantly initiated a pursuit of the assailants. However, upon realizing they were being chased, the suspects abandoned the herd and escaped into a nearby bush, leaving the cattle behind.
Recovery and Medical Attention
Dr. Ganzallo confirmed that all the recovered cattle have been handed over to their rightful owner. The injured guard was promptly taken to an undisclosed hospital for proper medical attention, ensuring his well-being after the traumatic incident. The commander emphasized the importance of timely intervention and praised the community's role in providing prompt and reliable information, which facilitated the successful recovery operation.

Ganzallo assured the public that efforts are underway to track and apprehend the fleeing suspects, underscoring the Corps' commitment to maintaining security and curbing crime in Ogun State.
