The legal representatives of popular Lagos pastor, Chris Okafor, have issued a stern ultimatum to actress Doris Ogala and social media commentator Martins Vincent Otse, known as VeryDarkMan (VDM). They have been challenged to present any solid proof of alleged rape and other accusations to the Nigeria Police Force.
Legal Team Denies Allegations, Threatens Criminal Action
Speaking to journalists in Lagos, the cleric's lawyer, Mr. Ife Ajayi, labeled the claims circulating online as completely false and malicious. He described the situation as a coordinated campaign of cyberbullying, blackmail, and public incitement designed to ruin Pastor Okafor's reputation.
Ajayi emphasized that their client is a law-abiding citizen who has never been formally indicted for any such offenses. "What we are witnessing is a trial by social media, not a lawful process," he stated. The lawyer warned that failure by the accusers to provide evidence to the authorities would result in the initiation of criminal proceedings against them.
Origins Traced to a Failed Business Deal
According to the legal team, the root of the conflict dates back to late 2024. It began with a business arrangement involving Doris Ogala and a third party, which Pastor Okafor initially participated in but later exited. He withdrew after concluding the venture's goals were unattainable.
Ajayi narrated that following this, Ogala first claimed the pastor owed her N45 million, an allegation he insists is baseless. This financial dispute then allegedly evolved into insinuations of a romantic involvement, further monetary demands, and finally, escalated into the serious criminal allegations of rape that gained traction in December 2025.
Alleged Intensification Ahead of Pastor's Wedding
The lawyer further claimed the online attacks significantly increased just before Pastor Okafor's wedding in December 2025. During this period, Doris Ogala is alleged to have demanded compensation, first in cash and later in the form of a house, while also questioning his right to marry.
Ajayi accused bloggers and online platforms of amplifying these serious claims without any attempt to verify the facts or seek Pastor Okafor's side of the story. The legal team's public challenge now places the onus on the accusers to substantiate their allegations through official legal channels or face the consequences of defamation.
