Plateau Police Arrest Two Suspected Cult Members

The Plateau State Police Command has recorded another breakthrough in its fight against crime with the arrest of two suspected members of the Sara-Suka cult group. The arrests were made during separate operations as part of the command's intensified efforts to curb criminal activities and the circulation of illegal substances across the state.

First Arrest: Adam Abdullahi

According to a statement by the Command's Police Public Relations Officer, SP Alfred Alabo, police detectives attached to the Anti-Cyber Crime and Narcotics Unit arrested 18-year-old Adam Abdullahi, a resident of Yen Siminti, Rikkos, Jos. The suspect was apprehended at Gangere while allegedly in possession of a double-edged knife, cult-related attire, and substances suspected to be crystal methamphetamine, commonly known as 'ice.'

Second Arrest: Khalifa Yusuf

In a separate operation, officers from the Angwan Rogo Division arrested 20-year-old Khalifa Yusuf, a resident of Angwan Rimi, Jos. He was taken into custody at the 011 Prayer Ground opposite the University of Jos Permanent Site. Items recovered from him include a knife and dry leaves suspected to be cannabis.

Investigation and Prosecution

Both suspects are currently in police custody and are undergoing investigation. They are expected to be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations. The Command reiterated its commitment to fighting crime and all forms of criminality in the state.
