Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force in Umuahia, Abia State, have apprehended a barber identified only as Emeka on suspicion of using his customers' hair for ritual purposes. The arrest followed a complaint lodged by his neighbor, Mr. Johnson Ikenga, who accused the barber of threatening his life.
According to police sources, the incident unfolded on Tuesday, July 28, when Ikenga reported to the Central Police Station that Emeka had been issuing threats. Officers promptly visited the barber's one-room apartment to conduct a search, during which they allegedly uncovered a clay pot stuffed with shaved human hair alongside other fetish objects.
Discovery During Search
The discovery sent shockwaves through the neighborhood, as residents expressed concerns over the possibility that the barber had been collecting hair from unsuspecting clients for illicit rituals. During interrogation, Emeka reportedly confessed that the pot belonged to him but failed to provide any explanation regarding the source of the hair or its intended use.
Police officials stated that the suspect could not account for how the hair, believed to be from his customers, ended up in his possession. The items seized are currently being held as evidence while investigations continue.

Emeka was taken into custody at the Central Police Station, Umuahia, where he is being held pending further inquiries. The Abia State Police Command has assured the public that a thorough investigation is underway to determine if any criminal activities or ritual practices were involved.
