The Bauchi State Police Command has made a significant arrest, apprehending two private security guards in connection with the alleged theft of an official government vehicle.
Swift Police Action Leads to Arrests
According to a statement released by the Command's spokesperson, SP Nafiu Habib, on Monday, December 15, 2025, the arrest followed a formal complaint of criminal conspiracy and theft. The report was lodged at the 'B' Divisional Police Headquarters in Bauchi on December 12, 2025.
The complainant was identified as Ibrahim Markus, a supervisor with Royal Security Guard Limited, who resides in Wuntin Dada, Bauchi. Markus informed the police that two guards assigned to the Bauchi Livestock Productivity and Resilience Support (L-PRES) Project office on Adamu Jumba Road, GRA, had conspired and disappeared with one of the organization's official vehicles.
How the Theft Was Discovered
The incident came to light when Markus received a distress call from the L-PRES Project Coordinator on December 11, 2025, alerting him that the vehicle was missing from its designated location.
The police immediately launched an investigation. The suspects were identified as:
- Yarda John, 19, from GRA, Bauchi.
- Jessy Danjuma, also 19, a resident of State Low-Cost, Bauchi.
Vehicle Recovered, Investigation Continues
Acting on credible intelligence, police operatives tracked and recovered the stolen vehicle. The white Toyota Hilux with registration number 03B-04 BA was found at the Bauchi Club within the GRA area. The two suspects were arrested at the scene during the police operation.
SP Habib noted that the monetary value of the vehicle is yet to be ascertained. He confirmed that investigations are still ongoing and that the suspects will be arraigned in court upon the conclusion of the probe.
In the statement, the Police Command reiterated its unwavering commitment to protecting the lives and property of all citizens in Bauchi State. They urged residents to continue partnering with security agencies by providing timely and credible information to help prevent and solve crimes.
