The Nigeria Police Force in Benin has arrested a suspect named Amadin William, also known as Old Soldier. He is alleged to be responsible for the killing of a man identified as Eghosa Osaikhuowuomwan, who was popularly called Didi. The arrest was confirmed by the command's spokesperson, Eno Ikoedem.

According to the police account, the tragic event unfolded on December 22, 2025. The victim had attended a housewarming party in the Oben community, located within the Orhionmwon Local Government Area. During the social gathering, the deceased excused himself to use the restroom. It was there that the suspect allegedly followed him and attacked him with a machete, inflicting a severe wound to his neck.

Police Investigation and Arrest

The injured man was rushed to a hospital for emergency treatment. However, he succumbed to his injuries from excessive bleeding and was pronounced dead on arrival. The following day, December 23, 2025, the brother of the deceased formally reported the incident to the police, which triggered an immediate investigation.

A manhunt was launched for the suspect. Through diligent investigative work, police officers were able to track down and arrest Amadin William in Benin City on December 27, 2025. He is currently being held in police custody as the inquiry continues.
