The suspect was intercepted at approximately 7:50 p.m. along the Gusau–Funtua federal highway. The suspect, a resident of Yankuzo village in Tsafe Local Government Area, was riding a red Boxer motorcycle at the time of his arrest. Acting on credible intelligence, police operatives stationed at the Yankara checkpoint conducted a thorough search of the vehicle.

During the search, officers discovered eight hundred rounds of AK-47 7.62mm live ammunition. The ammunition was carefully concealed inside the motorcycle's fuel tank, indicating a deliberate attempt to evade detection.
