Police Arrest Three Suspects Over Murder of 27-Year-Old Woman in Ondo

The Ondo State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of three suspects in connection with the brutal murder of a 27-year-old woman, Faith Olusesan, in Funbi Fagun, Ondo Town, located within the Ondo East Local Government Area of the state.

Details of the Tragic Incident

According to reports, assailants invaded the residence of a serving police officer, DSP Helen Adetowubo, on Fagun Estate Road 5. The attackers used machetes to inflict fatal injuries on Faith Olusesan, leading to her death. It was gathered that the victim had been preparing to travel out of the country in search of better opportunities in the coming weeks, adding a layer of tragedy to the incident.

Police Response and Investigation

The spokesperson for the command, DSP Abayomi Jimoh, confirmed the incident and the arrests in a statement issued on Wednesday, February 11, 2026. The suspects were identified as Olayode, 27; Temitope, 32; and Bolaji, 22. They were apprehended after the murder case was reported at the Fagun Division on February 5, 2026.

Upon receiving the report, police operatives swiftly mobilized to the scene, where they discovered the lifeless body of the victim. The body was professionally evacuated and deposited at the State Specialist Hospital Morgue for preservation and autopsy to aid in the investigation.

In the statement, the Ondo State Police Command, under the leadership of CP Adebowale Lawal, announced that a full-scale investigation has commenced. Preliminary findings revealed that the assailants forcibly gained entry into the compound, though they were initially unidentified.
