Residents of Maiduguri, Borno State, were thrown into shock following the gruesome discovery of a murdered man inside a vehicle.
Gruesome Discovery in Modari Polo
The incident occurred at Modari Polo area of Maiduguri. At approximately 12:55 PM on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, a man was found dead inside a green Honda Civic with the registration number GUB 142 GB. The victim was seated in the driver's seat and had suffered a fatal injury; his throat was slit.
Police Response and Evidence Found
A police patrol team, led by Supol GRA, swiftly arrived at the crime scene. They documented the area and evacuated the victim's body to the State Specialist Hospital in Maiduguri, where medical personnel certified him dead on arrival. According to reports from Borno journalist Hamza Suleiman, an important piece of evidence was recovered from the vehicle: an Access Bank ATM card bearing the name Mohammed Ibrahim Saje.
The police have taken several steps to advance the investigation:
- The victim's corpse was photographed and deposited at the hospital mortuary for autopsy and identification.
- The green Honda Civic was towed to the police station for safekeeping.
- The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in Maiduguri has taken over the case.
