Troops of the Nigerian Army have successfully rescued two kidnapped victims during a search-and-rescue mission in Madagali Local Government Area of Adamawa State. The operation commenced at approximately 4:32 a.m. on May 3, 2026, following a distress call reporting a kidnapping incident in the Korpallama general area.

Rescue Operation Details

Personnel from B Company, 144 Battalion, stationed in Gulak, collaborated with members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) to mobilize to the location and conduct a thorough search operation. Their efforts led to the safe rescue of two victims: Barnabas Apagu, aged 12, and Ruth Apagu, aged 10.

Ongoing Search for Remaining Victims

Authorities confirmed that two other individuals, identified as Rahila Apagu, 21, and Ijandri Apagu, 19, remain unaccounted for. Security forces have intensified operations in the area and are continuing efforts to locate and rescue the missing victims. The military has assured the public that all necessary measures are being taken to ensure the safe return of the remaining hostages.
