The victim, identified as Goodness, had boarded a mini bus that was being operated by the suspects who were posing as regular passengers. According to the police statement released by ASP Eitokpah Sunday Akata, the official spokesperson for the command, the assailants first dispossessed the young woman of her Android phone and other personal belongings before callously shoving her from the vehicle while it was still in motion.

In a commendable display of civic responsibility, the driver of the mini bus immediately halted the vehicle, raised an alarm, and initiated a pursuit of the fleeing suspects toward the Bogobiri area. The arrested individuals have been identified as:

  • Leo Celestine, a 25-year-old male
  • Ndiana-Abasi William, a 30-year-old male

Authorities recovered the stolen items, including the victim's Android phone, from the suspects at the time of their arrest.

During subsequent interrogation, the suspects allegedly confessed to being active members of the Vikings confraternity, a secret cult group. They admitted to specializing in this particular robbery scheme that targets unsuspecting commuters, commonly referred to as 'one chance' operations.
