Students at Nnamdi Azikiwe University (Unizik) in Awka, Anambra State, stripped and beat a man alleged to be a lecturer after a female student accused him of molestation. The incident occurred on campus in front of the Chike Okoli Centre for Entrepreneurial Studies.
Female Student Emerges Crying, Students Chase Alleged Offender
A video shared by Linda Ikeji's blog shows a female student coming out of an office building, crying, with her clothes and hair in disarray. Students are heard screaming, "Catch him. Catch him o." As they screamed, they ran towards the alleged victim, who fell on the floor crying.
Just further ahead, male students are seen surrounding a naked man, whom they beat and kicked. Unconfirmed reports allege that the lecturer was caught in the nude in an office after the female student ran off with his clothes, screaming for help and alleging that he tried to get her to perform a sex act on him.
No Chance to Defend Himself
It appears the lecturer was not given a chance to defend himself or share his side of the story before students pounced on him. The attack took place in a public area of the campus, drawing a crowd of students who witnessed the incident.
The video, posted on Instagram by Linda Ikeji at 15/08/2026 10:24 PM, has sparked reactions online, though no official statement from the university has been released yet.
