According to Paris-based sports journalist Ojora Babatunde, the mother of the deceased has taken action by getting his friends and girlfriend arrested after Udoh died from suspected food or alcohol poisoning.

Babatunde wrote on X: "According to multiple reports, former Southampton F.C. and Royal Antwerp F.C. winger, Victor Udoh reportedly died in Abuja last night following suspected food or alcohol poisoning. The 21-year-old winger was believed to be on holiday at the time of the incident." He added: "Developing story: Victor Udoh’s mother has reportedly had the deceased’s friends and girlfriend arrested in Abuja."
The arrest has raised questions about the circumstances surrounding the young footballer's death. Authorities are expected to investigate further to determine the exact cause of death and whether any foul play was involved.
