Wells Carlton Hotel Issues Strong Warning Against Fraudulent Property Claims in Abuja
The management of The Wells Carlton Hotel & Apartments, located in the prestigious Asokoro district of Abuja, has released an official public disclaimer to address and reject what it describes as fraudulent claims regarding the sale, lease, or third-party management of the luxury property. In a statement delivered by media consultant Mr. Courage Moses, the management has categorically denied any such transactions, emphasizing that the hotel remains under the exclusive ownership of the company and is not available for sale under any circumstances.
Exclusive Ownership and Fraud Alert
Mr. Moses explicitly stated, "The Wells Carlton Hotel & Apartments belongs exclusively to the family of the late Dr. Wells Idahosa Okunbo. The property is not for sale, and no group or agent has been authorised to transact any business in respect of the property without the express written consent of the owner." This declaration aims to clarify any misconceptions and prevent potential investors from falling victim to scams orchestrated by unauthorized individuals or organizations.
Risks and Legal Consequences
The statement further warned the public and prospective investors to exercise extreme caution when approached by anyone claiming to represent the owners. It highlighted that any dealings with such unauthorized parties are illegal, fraudulent, and constitute trespass. "Any person or entity engaging in transactions relating to the property without proper authorisation does so at their own risk. The owner will not honour any agreements entered into with unauthorised parties, as such transactions are null and void from the outset," Moses added. The management reiterated that unauthorized interference could lead to both civil and criminal liability, with the company prepared to take legal action against offenders to protect its interests.
Commitment to Brand Legacy
In addition to the fraud alert, Wells Carlton used the opportunity to reaffirm its dedication to growing The Wells Carlton brand and honoring the legacy of its founder, the late Capt. (Dr.) Idahosa Wells Okunbo. The family remains steadfast in their commitment to strengthening and expanding the brand as a tribute to their patriarch, with no intentions of disposing of the property. This underscores their long-term vision for the hotel as a cornerstone of their business and a symbol of their heritage in Abuja's luxury hospitality sector.
