Nigerian Woman Narrates Sister's Alleged Murder by Husband in Rivers State

A Nigerian woman, Chimereucheya Abigail Enyinnaya, has shared a harrowing account of how her sister was allegedly murdered by her husband, Abuchi, in a tragic incident that has shocked the community. The Rivers State Police Command has arrested Abuchi for the alleged crime, which occurred in Amaji village, Umuoyoro Community, Omuma Local Government Area.

Details of the Alleged Murder

The incident took place on Thursday, February 19, 2026, at the couple's farm in Amaji village. According to reports, an argument escalated between the couple, leading to the suspect allegedly using a kitchen knife to kill his wife, a mother of two. The couple had been married since 2020, and the victim was reportedly harvesting cassava at the time of the attack.

Chimereucheya took to Facebook on Monday, February 24, to express her grief and describe Abuchi as a beast. She stated that Abuchi went to the farm, beat his wife, and brutally cut off her head with the knife. After the murder, he returned home and announced what he had done. When his brother attempted to intervene, the suspect allegedly shot him and fled the scene.

Police Investigation and Arrest

On Wednesday, February 19, 2026, Abuchi's family contacted the police at Eberi station to report the case, claiming he had slaughtered his wife and shot his brother. Police reports indicate that Abuchi left his workshop at noon, informing his workplace he was going to see his family, but instead went directly to the farm to commit the alleged crime.

Abuchi emerged from hiding on Friday, February 20, and was apprehended by the police. The case is currently under investigation by the Rivers State Criminal Investigation Department (CID), and the suspect remains in custody without justification for his actions, according to Chimereucheya.

Victim's Family Seeks Justice

In her emotional post, Chimereucheya emphasized that her sister died unable to tell her story, facing tragic moments with a beast. She lamented that the murder was committed without regard for their two children, describing it as a cold-blooded killing. She called for global awareness, stating that the man does not deserve life and hoping for charges to be filed and justice to prevail.

This case highlights ongoing issues of domestic violence and crime in Nigeria, with authorities continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding this brutal incident.
