Tragedy Strikes During Morning Routine
A quiet Friday morning in Abaji turned tragic when a housewife identified as Iya Bolu suddenly collapsed and died while performing her daily dental hygiene routine. The incident occurred around 7 am on Friday, November 8, at her residence in Abaji, the headquarters of the Abaji Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory.
Sequence of Events
According to neighbors who spoke to Daily Trust on Tuesday, November 12, the deceased had just completed her morning prayers and was preparing for the day ahead. Mr. Femi Ajakaiye, a relative of the deceased, provided detailed information about the unfortunate event.
"She had finished her morning devotions in her room and stepped out to brush her teeth in preparation for going to the market," Ajakaiye explained. "Suddenly, without any warning, she slumped to the ground."
Emergency Response and Aftermath
Family members and neighbors immediately rushed the unconscious woman to the nearest medical facility. However, doctors at the hospital confirmed the worst - Iya Bolu had already passed away.
At the time of the incident, her husband, who works as a panel beater, had already left for work. "Upon being informed, the husband quickly rushed to the hospital only to discover his wife had already been confirmed dead," Ajakaiye stated.
The relative described the deceased as a petty trader who had appeared completely healthy before the sudden collapse. "She was believed to be hale and hearty before the incident," he emphasized.
The woman's remains have been deposited at the hospital morgue, awaiting transportation to Ondo State for burial arrangements.
Additional Tragic Circumstances
The incident carries an additional layer of tragedy as the woman had been making preparations to travel to Ondo State later this month. "Unfortunately, the woman was preparing to travel to Ondo State for the burial of her mother at the end of this month when this happened," Ajakaiye revealed.
The sudden nature of the death has left the community in shock, raising questions about underlying health conditions that may not have been previously detected.
