PSG Defender Lucas Hernandez and Partner Face Serious Human Trafficking Allegations
Paris Saint-Germain defender Lucas Hernandez, a 2018 World Cup champion with France, and his partner Victoria Triay have been formally accused of human trafficking and labor exploitation by a family of five Colombian workers. The allegations, which have sparked significant controversy, involve claims of illegal employment practices and grueling working conditions.
Details of the Employment Arrangement
The Colombian family, consisting of parents and three adult children, were employed by Hernandez and Triay from September 2024 until November 2025. According to their legal representative, Lola Dubois, the family worked as security personnel and babysitters for the high-profile couple without obtaining the necessary legal documentation required for employment in France.
The daughter of the family revealed to French publication Paris Match that she initially met Triay while working as her nurse in Colombia. Triay allegedly offered her employment in France with promises of official documentation that would legally permit her to work within six months. This documentation never materialized, according to the family's account.
Allegations of Exploitative Working Conditions
According to lawyer Lola Dubois, the family endured extremely demanding working conditions during their employment. They reportedly worked up to 82 hours per week without any designated days off, receiving what they described as insufficient compensation for their labor.
"An entire family is deprived of its rights," Dubois stated emphatically. "Without proper employment contracts, they are not entitled to unemployment benefits or adequate social security coverage. This is particularly concerning given that Hernandez is a professional football player surrounded by numerous legal advisors both in his personal life and through his club."
The lawyer further argued that the failure to provide employment contracts demonstrated intentional disregard for legal requirements, suggesting premeditation in the alleged offenses.
Financial Arrangements and Documentation Issues
The family claims they were paid exclusively in cash throughout their employment. In February 2025, they allegedly signed confidentiality agreements and received what they later discovered were counterfeit identity documents.
According to Dubois, official employment contracts were only presented to the family in October 2025, following a disagreement between the daughter and Triay. These contracts, described by the lawyer as "documents drawn up at the last minute in an attempt to regularize the situation," stated that the family worked approximately 86 hours per month for a gross monthly salary of €1,029 (approximately £896).
Security Incident and Additional Claims
The daughter made further disturbing claims about their working conditions, stating that the family "risked our lives" for Hernandez and his partner. She specifically referenced an attempted burglary at the footballer's residence in December 2024, during which the family's father allegedly fired a weapon to scare away the intruders.
Defense from Hernandez and Triay
Hernandez and Triay have issued a strong denial of all allegations through their legal representatives. The couple expressed being "completely taken aback" by the claims and described feeling "betrayed" by individuals they considered friends.
In an official statement, the couple explained: "We opened our home and our lives to people who presented themselves as friends, who sought our kindness and for whom we had genuine affection. We helped them, supported them, and believed them when they assured us that they were in the process of regularizing their situation. That trust has been betrayed."
They further stated: "Unfortunately, we are not the first to experience such a situation. Like many others before us, we were manipulated by emotional stories and false assurances. We never acted with malicious intent or in contempt of the law. We acted as human beings and learned, painfully, that compassion can be exploited."
The couple emphasized that the matter is now being handled through proper legal channels and requested public restraint from speculation on social media platforms.
Legal Proceedings and Investigation
The Versailles prosecutor's office has confirmed that they are currently investigating the allegations against Hernandez and Triay. The case represents a significant legal challenge for the football star, whose professional career with PSG and the French national team has been distinguished by numerous athletic achievements.
This developing situation highlights ongoing concerns about labor practices involving domestic workers in high-profile households and raises questions about the responsibilities of employers regarding legal documentation and working conditions for immigrant labor.
