Tinubu, Matawalle Praised for Rescue of 24 Abducted Kebbi Schoolgirls
24 Kebbi Schoolgirls Rescued, Tinubu Hailed

The successful rescue of 24 schoolgirls abducted from Government Girls Secondary School in Maga, Kebbi State, has drawn widespread commendation for Nigeria's leadership and security forces.

Presidential Leadership Credited for Rescue Success

The Network for Peace and Development (NPD) has publicly praised President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Defence Minister of State Dr. Bello Matawalle, and security chiefs for their roles in the successful operation that returned the kidnapped students to safety.

In an official statement released on Tuesday and signed by Executive Director Rev. Moses Adamu, the organization described the rescue as "a divine victory and a resounding testament to decisive presidential leadership."

Rev. Adamu specifically highlighted President Tinubu's immediate response to the crisis, noting that the President's firm directive proved crucial in ensuring the girls' safe return. "To the glory of God Almighty, our daughters are back home alive and unharmed," Adamu stated.

Matawalle's On-Ground Presence Made the Difference

The NPD particularly commended Dr. Matawalle for his hands-on approach during the eight-day ordeal. Rather than directing operations from the capital, the Defence Minister relocated to Kebbi State to personally oversee rescue efforts.

"Dr. Matawalle did not sit in Abuja issuing press releases," the statement emphasized. "He moved to the theatre of operation, coordinated the forces on ground, and led from the front. Today, Kebbi and the entire nation are celebrating because of his courage and commitment."

The organization revealed that the minister's presence provided the turning point needed for the successful execution of what they described as "a flawless rescue mission."

Security Forces Execute Flawless Operation

Rev. Adamu extended praise to the Chief of Defence Staff, Service Chiefs, Inspector-General of Police, and the troops who carried out the challenging operation. The security personnel worked tirelessly in difficult terrain, motivated by strong leadership from the top.

The Network also highlighted the importance of community collaboration, noting that they worked closely with federal security agencies throughout the crisis. Local intelligence and community hunters provided crucial support that complemented official efforts.

"We saw first-hand the determination of our security agencies when they are backed by a President who means business," Rev. Adamu observed.

Tribute to Fallen Educator

While celebrating the successful rescue, the NPD also mourned the death of the school's Vice Principal, Malam Hassan Makuku, who was killed during the initial attack. The organization offered prayers for his soul and recognition of his sacrifice.

The group called for sustained efforts to secure educational institutions across Nigeria, declaring: "Today, Mr. President, Dr. Bello Matawalle, and our security forces have shown that no child will be abandoned in the hands of criminals as long as this administration is in power."

The rescue operation demonstrates what can be achieved when political leadership, security forces, and community resources work in coordinated fashion toward a common goal.
