Bandits Storm Kebbi Boarding School, Seize 25 Female Students
In a daring early morning raid, armed bandits invaded the Government Girls Comprehensive Secondary School in Maga, Kebbi State, abducting twenty-five students. The violent incident, which occurred around 4 am on Monday, November 17, 2025, has sent shockwaves through the Danko Wasagu Local Government Area and the nation at large.
Chaos and Tragedy in the Dead of Night
The attackers stormed the school premises while firing gunshots into the air, creating panic and confusion. Police personnel stationed at the location bravely engaged the intruders in a firefight. However, the gunmen managed to breach the compound and successfully fled with the students before security reinforcements could arrive on the scene.
Tragically, the assault resulted in the death of one resident, identified as Hassan Makuku. Another man, Ali Shehu, sustained a hand injury during the attack. The bandits used the cover of darkness and the surrounding terrain to make their escape with the abducted schoolgirls.
Massive Security Operation Launched
In response to the brazen attack, a major coordinated search and rescue operation is now underway. The Kebbi State Police Command has deployed a joint security team comprising:

- Local vigilante groups
These teams are conducting extensive sweeps across suspected routes and are combing through nearby forests in a determined effort to locate and rescue the abducted students. Security officials have vowed that the operation will continue relentlessly until all the victims are safely recovered.

The Commissioner of Police in Kebbi State, Bello M Sani, has assured residents of the command's unwavering commitment to protecting communities across the state. He has appealed for public calm and urged locals to support the ongoing operations by providing any relevant information that could aid the rescue mission.
In a statement signed by the Police Public Relations Officer, CSP Nafi’u Abubakar Kotarkoshi, the Command confirmed it is working in close collaboration with other security formations to bring the situation under control and secure the safe return of the students.
