Security operatives in Kaduna State have made a significant breakthrough in a horrifying case of violence, apprehending five individuals suspected of involvement in a brutal attack on a teenage girl. The victim, 16-year-old Endurance Sabo, suffered life-altering injuries, including the amputation of her hand, during an attempted kidnapping in her village.
Swift Security Response Leads to Arrests
The arrests followed what local authorities have described as a coordinated and prompt intervention. Mr. Peter Tanko Dogara, the Chairman of Jema'a Local Government Area, confirmed the development through a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Communication, Paul Aliyu. The operation was launched after the council received a distress call from the community regarding the incident.
"Upon receiving the distress call, the Chairman of Jema'a Local Government immediately coordinated with security operatives to launch a rescue operation, which led to the rescue of Miss Endurance Sabo and the arrest of the five suspects," the official statement detailed. This swift action underscores the critical role of community alertness and inter-agency cooperation in tackling security threats.
Details of the Harrowing Ordeal
The violent event took place in Goska village, within the Kaninkon Ward of Jema'a LGA, earlier in December 2025. Reports indicate that the assailants attempted to abduct Sabo, her grandmother, and her four younger sisters. While the grandmother and the other children managed to escape without harm, Sabo was not as fortunate.
She was captured by the attackers who subjected her to severe violence before security forces could intervene. The chairman's statement expressed profound regret over the extent of her injuries. "Regrettably, she had sustained severe injuries during the ordeal, including the amputation of one of her hands," the release added.
Ongoing Medical Care and Support for the Victim
Endurance Sabo is currently on the path to recovery, receiving medical attention at the Sir Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa Memorial Hospital in Kafanchan. Recognizing the need for advanced care, the local government council is taking full responsibility for her treatment.
"The victim is now receiving treatment at Sir Patrick Ibrahim Yakowa Memorial Hospital in Kafanchan, and the Council Chairman has promised to take full responsibility for her medical bills," the chairman assured. Furthermore, arrangements are being made to transfer her to a tertiary health institution. "He has also requested the medical team in Kafanchan to refer her to a tertiary health facility where she can receive more comprehensive care."
This tragic incident highlights the persistent security challenges in some regions and the devastating human cost of criminal activities like kidnapping. The arrest of the five suspects offers a measure of hope for justice, while the community and authorities rally to support the young victim in her long journey toward healing.
