Bandits Strike Sokoto Village, Leaving Residents in Fear
Armed bandits launched a brutal attack on the Tarah community located in the Sabon Birni Local Government Area of Sokoto State. The assailants kidnapped nine residents and shot one person in the arm during the violent incursion.

According to local sources, the community was left vulnerable because its vigilante group had been redeployed to the nearby area of Katsira just before the attack. Residents confirmed that this sudden security gap gave the bandits the confidence to storm the village in large numbers.

In a swift response, youths from the area mobilized and confronted the armed bandits. This brave action by the local youths is widely believed to have prevented a much larger and more devastating mass abduction from occurring.
