Bandits Strike Kano Village, Abduct Five Women
Armed bandits have once again unleashed terror in Kano State, attacking Yan Kwada village in the Faruruwa area of Shanono Local Government Area. The violent incident resulted in the abduction of five women, including nursing mothers, according to local residents.

The attackers arrived in large numbers during the raid, heavily armed with dangerous weapons. Residents who spoke with journalists described a scene of chaos as the bandits broke into multiple homes while shooting sporadically to intimidate villagers.
"They came as usual, shooting sporadically and breaking into houses. They abducted five women, including nursing mothers," a local source revealed about the terrifying incident.
Following the attack, there has been some development with two of the kidnapped women reportedly gaining their freedom. However, three victims remain in captivity with their families awaiting their safe return.
Community Living in Constant Fear
This latest attack comes as a devastating blow to local communities, especially considering it occurred barely a week after security forces conducted a successful joint military operation in the same area. During that previous engagement, troops eliminated 19 bandits in a fierce gun battle.
Despite these security efforts, residents of Faruruwa and surrounding border communities continue to live under the constant threat of bandit raids. The persistent insecurity has forced many villagers to abandon their homes and livelihoods.
Many villages have been completely abandoned as frightened residents either flee to Faruruwa town or relocate entirely to urban centers in search of safety.
One displaced resident expressed the community's collective anxiety, stating: "We live in fear every day. There's no telling when they will strike next."
