Two Killed, One Injured in IED Explosion on Niger State Road
Two individuals lost their lives and another sustained injuries following the detonation of an improvised explosive device (IED) along the Kudodo–Kampani Community Road in Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State. The tragic incident occurred on the evening of February 7, at approximately 7:30 p.m., when three men from Chikuba village were traveling on a motorcycle and inadvertently triggered the explosive device.
Details of the Victims and Incident
The victims have been identified as Haruna, aged 40; Ishayaku, aged 36; and Sunday Joshua, aged 35, all residents of Chikuba village. According to reports from security analyst Zagazola Makama, Haruna and Ishayaku died instantly at the scene of the explosion. Sunday Joshua, however, survived with injuries and was promptly transported to the Shekwoiyha Divine Primary Health Care Center in Erena for urgent medical treatment.

Following the explosion, law enforcement officials visited the site to assess the situation and gather evidence. The case has been formally referred to the Bomb Disposal Unit for a thorough investigation and to determine the necessary actions to prevent future occurrences.
