"The bandits forced their way into our home while we were sleeping," Mrs. Hassan recounted. "One of the gunmen shot my husband during a struggle, then dragged me outside the house."
The situation took another terrifying turn when the couple's daughter emerged from hiding. The bandits immediately shifted their attention to the young woman, taking her with them and forcing her to lead them to the student hostel.

Mrs. Hassan described the moment her daughter faced imminent execution. "The bandits ordered her to lie down so they could shoot her too. When she asked if they intended to kill her, they confirmed her fears."
Displaying remarkable presence of mind, the young woman requested permission to relieve herself. This simple request created a crucial distraction when the bandits opened a door and discovered other girls hiding nearby.
"Their attention shifted from my daughter to the other students," Mrs. Hassan explained. "That momentary distraction allowed her to escape into the surrounding bush. She returned safely when morning came, but the trauma will remain with her forever."
