Kebbi LG Chairman Refutes US Lawmaker's Claim on Abducted Schoolgirls
Kebbi Chairman Denies US Lawmaker's Kidnap Claim

The Chairman of Danko/Wasagu Local Government Area in Kebbi State, Hussaini Aliyu, has firmly rejected claims made by United States lawmaker Riley Moore regarding the recent abduction of students from Government Girls Comprehensive Senior Secondary School in Maga.

Disputing the Narrative

Aliyu described Moore's assertion that the attack occurred in a Christian enclave as misleading and potentially dangerous at a time when government efforts are concentrated on securing the safe return of the abducted schoolgirls. The chairman emphasized that all 25 kidnapped students are Muslim, directly countering the American politician's claims.

Promoting Peaceful Coexistence

The local government leader stressed that the Zuru Emirate, under which the Maga community falls, has a long history of peaceful coexistence among residents of different faiths and has never experienced religious crises. He urged the U.S. lawmaker to refrain from making unverified statements that could portray Nigeria negatively or undermine national unity.
