The Niger State Police Command has successfully rescued a 13-year-old boy who managed to escape from kidnappers after being abducted in Minna, only to be discovered hundreds of kilometers away in Gombe State.

According to a statement issued by the command's spokesperson, SP Wasiu Abiodun, on Thursday, December 4, 2025, the victim, Saifullahi Daddi, was found in the Dukkul area of Gombe State on December 3, 2025. The young boy, originally from Wasagi village in Gbako Local Government Area, was reportedly wandering alone when he was located by authorities.

Details of the Abduction

In his account to the police, Saifullahi narrated a harrowing ordeal. He stated that on November 30, 2025, at about 2:00 PM, he was taken by unknown persons while he was at the Minna market with relatives. The next thing he knew, he found himself inside a vehicle where his captors held him.

Displaying remarkable courage, the teenager seized an opportunity to escape from the moving vehicle. It was only after his escape that he realized he was no longer in Niger State but had been transported to Gombe State.

Police Appeal to the Public

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) has used this incident to circulate information and appeal to the public. The police statement confirmed that the boy is now safe and in protective custody.

The police are urgently calling on relatives, parents, or guardians of the child to come forward. They have provided a dedicated contact line for further assistance and family reunification.
