The family of late teacher Michael Oyedokun, who was reportedly killed days ago in Ogbomosho, Oyo State, has released a public statement thanking Nigerians for the prayers, concern, and support shown during this difficult period.

In the statement signed by Olaoluwa Oyedokun on behalf of the family, they expressed gratitude to individuals making efforts to support them, including those seeking to raise funds.

However, the family stressed that their immediate concern is the safe release of persons still being held captive, as well as the release of Michael Oyedokun's remains so that he can be given a proper burial by loved ones.

They also appealed for privacy as they mourn, noting that the deceased left behind a grieving wife and two sons who deserve compassion and protection at this time.

The family further urged the public not to share personal information, photographs, or private details about them online, adding that an official position would be made known at the appropriate time.
