Military Forces Eliminate Terrorists in Kebbi Confrontation

Nigerian troops have successfully neutralized several terrorists and bandits during a decisive clearance operation conducted in Kebbi State. The military engagement took place on Wednesday, November 19, 2025, as part of ongoing efforts to dismantle criminal networks in the region.

Operation Details and Military Success

Troops from 8 Division/Sector 2 of Operation Fansan Yamma executed the strategic operation targeting identified terrorist enclaves across Kebbi State. According to military sources, the operation was specifically designed to dismantle criminal hideouts and prevent future attacks and kidnappings in the state.

The military confirmed that several bandits were neutralized during the intense gunfight. While a few soldiers sustained injuries during the operation, authorities emphasized that there were no fatalities among the military personnel.

Separate from Schoolgirls Rescue Mission

Military sources have clarified that this operation was not connected to the ongoing efforts to rescue the 25 students abducted from Government Secondary School in Maga. The clearance mission focused exclusively on targeting terrorist strongholds and disrupting their operational capabilities.

The successful operation follows recent directives from the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen Waidi Shaibu, who visited Kebbi State and ordered troops to intensify efforts against terrorists and bandits. General Shaibu had specifically instructed Operation Fansan Yamma troops to neutralize terrorist enclaves and expedite the rescue of the kidnapped schoolgirls.

This military action represents a significant step in the ongoing campaign to restore security in Kebbi State and protect communities from the threat of terrorism and banditry.
