The Nigerian Naval Ship NNS Lugard has expressed a strong desire to collaborate with Honourable Leke Abejide, the member representing Yagba Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, to deepen development and security at its base. This was disclosed by the base commander, Commodore Adetayo Olushola Ojo, during Abejide's visit to the command base in Banda, Lokoja, on Sunday.
Commodore Ojo and his team highlighted that such collaboration is essential for improving NNS Lugard's operational efficiency and expanding its overall impact. He emphasized that partnerships like this are crucial for the effectiveness of the base in fulfilling its mandate. During the visit, Ojo showcased some of the ongoing projects at the base and outlined the challenges facing NNS Lugard Lokoja, as well as the measures being taken to address them.
As part of efforts to foster development, the commander explained that his team decided to synergize with the lawmaker due to his proven track record of positive contributions, particularly in the areas of security and social development. Abejide, who was accompanied by his wife, Chief (Mrs.) Esther Abejide; member of the Kogi State House of Assembly (Yagba East State Constituency), Honourable Emmanuel Obaro; and Chairman of Yagba East Local Council, Honourable Dare Joshua, among others, appreciated the leadership of the base for their commitment to national development and safety.
He commended the NNS Lugard Lokoja command for its forward-looking projects and assured them of his readiness to work with the team to further enhance development and security in the region.
