Cross River State Governor, Bassey Otu, has firmly recommitted his administration to enhancing and solidifying the security collaboration with the Nigerian Navy. He declared unequivocally that "security remains the foundational bedrock upon which every meaningful development must stand." This strong statement was delivered during a courtesy visit by the Commandant of NNS Victory, Commodore Shuaib Ahmed, at the Government House in Calabar.

The governor stressed with emphasis that peace and stability are absolutely non-negotiable prerequisites for any form of societal progress. He noted critically that "no society can truly prosper or achieve its full potential where insecurity thrives and disrupts daily life." According to Governor Otu, the overarching vision for Cross River State is firmly anchored on achieving sustainable and inclusive development.
